Something New!

Are you looking for a unique place to celebrate a special event in your life? A birthday, anniversary or just a great evening with friends?

For the first time, the Knoxville Symphony League is offering two intimate venues from which to choose. Both would allow you to treat yourself and your guests to a fabulous meal prepared in a private, unique home. The time and date of your special event would be mutually agreed upon with your hosts.

Option One

Dinner for Six Overlooking the Tennessee River

Enjoy a special meal on the bluffs of the Tennessee River overlooking Sequoyah Hills at the home of John and Linda Haynes. Located in Lakemoor Hills (“the quiet side of the river”), the Haynes’ home was built in the 1960s and was recently remodeled with elements of mission, craftsman and Frank Lloyd Wright in mind. Take a funicular (tram) ride down to the boat dock for hors d’oeuvres, then return to the house for your meal and dessert. (Note: The home has several sets of stairs and is not handicap accessible.)

A Festa Italiano For Six

This dinner affair would be held at the home of Billy and Carmella Stair. Carmella writes that her father’s family were Italian immigrants, arriving from Italy and Sicily in the early 20th century. Their story is one of struggle, pride, and perseverance for a group that by 1930 represented more than four million Americans. Carmella urges you to join them at their home for an old country feast as they celebrate the Italian-American culinary experience, history, and traditions.
